Reflecting over my almost 30 years of practice in employee benefits, many of the most rewarding moments have arisen out of the friendships I have made with our colleagues who practice in the employee benefits area. For the past 28 years, I have spent the noon hour each Monday on the squash court followed by lunch with College fellow Paul Griesemer, and look forward to annually getting together with my friends Roberta Watson, Pam Perdue, Mike Laing, and Cindy Van Bogaert at the ALI-ABA Fundamentals of Employee Benefits course. Relative to lawyers in other practice areas, I truly believe that members of the employee benefits bar, as a group, exhibit an unmatched collegiality and dedication to working together towards positive outcomes for all parties involved in a negotiation or dispute. While most of my waking hours are spent in the practice of law, I do have a few hobbies. In addition to squash, I enjoy tennis, golf and duplicate bridge. My most enjoyable times are spent with my wife and daughter, who will make me into a grandfather in December.
