Nell Hennessy Moot Court Competition

The Ninth Annual Ellen A. (Nell) Hennessy Employee Benefits Moot Court Competition will be held March 6-7, 2026, at the Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law, in Washington, D.C. Additional details will be posted shortly.

The Eighth Annual Hennessy Competition was held March 7-8, 2025, at the Columbus School of Law. This competition featured 16 teams from across the country facing off for $4,500 in prizes. Please see press release for information on the 2025 competition winners.

Named in memory of Nell Hennessy—a fearless advocate for the rights of employee benefit plan participants and retirees—this unique competition promotes and recognizes the finest oral and written advocacy on critical issues in employee benefits appellate litigation.
