Elizabeth Ysla Leight

Elizabeth has over twenty-five years of legal experience in the areas of employee benefits and Title I issues. She represents non-profit organizations, trade associations, business entities, employers, and third party administrators. She concentrates her practice on employee benefits. She provides substantive guidance on issues arising under ERISA, the IRC, and State law compliance issues. Ms. Leight regularly prepares comments to the Federal regulatory agencies charged with enforcing ERISA. She authors the Annual TPA License Survey.

Ms. Leight has served in various positions of the American Bar Association (ABA) Real Property Trust & Estate Division (RPTE) Employee Benefit Plans & Other Compensation Arrangements Group. She currently serves as Vice-Chair of the Employee Benefit Plans & Other Compensation Arrangements Group. Previously, she served as Chair and Vice-Chair of the Welfare Benefit Plans Committee. She served on the ABA Joint Committee on Employee Benefits (JCEB) and as Program Chair of the Annual Government Invitational. She is a member of the ABA Government Affairs Standing Committee and Hispanic Commission. She served on the U.S. Department of Labor's ERISA Advisory Council and was also a member of the U.S. DOL and HHS Medical Child Support Working Group. Ms. Leight graduated from The American University and has a JD from Georgetown University Law Center. She is admitted to practice in Maryland, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. She is a member of the American Bar Assn., Maryland State Bar Assn., Maryland Hispanic Bar Assn., National Hispanic Bar Assn. and the Anne Arundel County Bar Assn.
