For more than 30 years, I have been assisting individuals with claims and litigation in the areas of health, life, disability, long-term care insurance and pensions arising under ERISA and for those exempt, state laws. I have been on the winning side of many significant Circuit Court decisions for decades.
I am a graduate University of Vermont and Suffolk University Law School in Boston. I am a Senior Editor of Bloomberg BNA’s Employee Benefits Law,the leading treatise on employee benefits law. I have received numerous accolades for my work representing plaintiffs. I am a member of many national and local bar organizations having held several leadership posts.
Multiemployer Plans
I have represented individuals and class members in amounts due under multiemployer plans.
DC Plans
I have represented individuals and class members in fee litigation under 401k plans.
DB Plans
I have represented individuals and classes in litigation disputes over benefit calculations due under DB Plans.
Health and Welfare Plans
I have litigated a significant number of cases in District Courts and Circuit Courts representing individuals in life, health, disability, long-term care and severance plans. In addition to individual claims, I have been co-lead counsel is many class actions involving health and welfare plans of the same nature. Together welfare-benefit claims and litigation has comprised about 75% of my time over the past three decades.
Exempt/Governmental Plans
I have represented individuals with claims under exempt/governmental plans regarding retirement benefits, life insurance benefits and disability benefits. This has involved administrative type claims and regular litigation.
